Questions and Answers

Questions about this RFP must be submitted in writing to the project team.  Vendors are strongly encouraged to review this RFP and any questions and answers posted below before submitting a question.  Questions may be submitted by e-mail at fcc@mphi.org or by mail to:

Each question and answer will be posted below.  MPHI will do its best to respond in a timely manner, but an answer may require a response from the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) or the FCC.  In no case will a failure of MPHI to answer a submitted question extend the proposal due date. MPHI will not identify the source of the question.  However, vendors are responsible for phrasing questions in a way that does not reveal their identity, if possible. Questions must be received before midnight on June 12, 2009 EXTENDED to June 19, 2009.

Q 1: Can the Network Monitoring Software Network Management Software be combined into one solution?
A 1: Yes, as long as the proposed solution has all the features of both items.

Q 2: Is installation of the equipment required?
A 2: No, this bid is for equipment only.

Q 3: Can the Questions and Answers period be extended?
A 3: Yes, the Questions and Answers period has been extended to June 19, 2009.  All questions must be received before midnight (Lansing, MI time).  Note: Only the Questions and Answers period is being extended, NOT the due date.

Q 4: Do you have the FCC license to operate in the 4.9 GHz band?
A 4: Yes, all FCC licensing has already been addressed.   Note: FCC licensing is outside the scope of this RFP.

Q 5: What band/frequency do the long-range PTP wireless network kits need to operate in?
A 5: Per section 2.2.3.4 of the RFP, ideal equipment will operate in both the 4.9 GHz and 5.8 GHz.  The preferred band/frequency is 4.9 GHz.
